because we smelt so bad and worked so incredibly hard relentlessly without stopping for any rest, it was agreed that 3 nights in a cheap hotel were required…….

last day pics
well ive done it!! i now officially have my competent crew qualification! whey hey!!!
great last day sailing with very good wind for gybing and tacking all day. i took the helm and had a go at skippering the boat for some tacking…..ready about, helm to lee, lee ho!!
i have had the most brilliant time, a real challenge. cant wait to come back for skipper course next year!
day after the storm
so its all calm in the harbour now but heaps of damage done to boats and moorings. extra anchors had to be layed by the captains and all boats tied to each other. today divers have got to reconnect the pontoon to the quayside as its lines were ripped off.
our poorcapt tom got no sleep and had to work all day too so he was knackered.
meanwhile we were helpfully getting to know everyone in the cafe. lots of knot tying and food and drink.
great night out last night with our new mates on the boat opposite. unrepeatable stories from everyone at dinner.
rainy night in sivota
its hammering with rain and expecting height of the storm at 6am so off to sleep with stomach full of moussaka. no alcohol today 😇
rainy day in sivota
arrived in sivota at the begining of the storm which has got so bad all the capts and skippers are tying the boats down and dealing with emergencies.
i have helpfully booked a hotel tonight as i kept falling over on the pontoon!! feeling queezy and looking forward to a moussaka
day 4 cyclone ahoy!
capt said we have to leave early to get to sivota before head of cyclone . so we had to get up at 6:30 which is shit when you have a metaxa hangover.
7am about to start checks before we sail. and paracetamol.
kalamos day 3
we have arrived at tiny kalamos on the eve of day 3 having learned dozens of MOBs and we await a huge cyclone to hit zante tomorrow
this is the most exciting experience
lots of learning new things
if weve put it up and taken it down once, weve done it a hundred times!!!!
our captain is a slave driver!! ha ha
